"All the Asian people that live in all the apartments around me, their moms and their brothers and their sisters and their grandmas and their grandpas and their cousins and everybody that they brought along from Asia with them, comes here on the weekends to do their laundry, buy their groceries, and cook their food for the week. It's seriously without fail, you will always see old Asian people running around this apartment complex every weekend. That's what they do, they don't teach their kids to fend for themselves.'' The statements made in this video are not only racist but thoughtless and short sighted. This video was culturally insensitive and shown through only one view which, in this case, was the American teen. This video brings up many questions like, how exactly did this girl get into one of the best collages in Los Angeles? Is this how the average American teen thinks? What is the intelligence level of the average American teen? After Alexandria Wallace, a political science major at UCLA, put up this video on youtube, it went viral. Everyone at UCLA saw it and she was correctly isolated and she began to receive anonymous hate-mail. After an intense conversation with the Dean of UCLA, Alexandria Wallace dropped out of UCLA. I love the parody! My friends an I joke about it all the time. This girl is horrible, though. I'm glad she left UCLA.
ReplyDeletePeople like this are sickening. She doesn't even deserve the attention she is getting, even if it is negative attention. The parody however is very funny, taking the humor out of something as horrible as this video is a very good trait to have.
